Semerkand English Magazine is with its readers this September with the "Ghawth-i Thani Shaykh Sayyid Abdülbaki el-Hüseyni Quddisa Sirruhu Special Issue."
Ghawth-i Thani Shaykh Sayyid Abdülbaki el-Hüseyni (quddisa sirruhu), one of the greatest friends of Allah and kamil murshids of the last century, was reunited with Allah’s mercy in July. He left behind hundreds of thousands of sorrowful hearts.
His disciples will remember him for the rest of their lives with the beautiful practices of devotion he always pointed to, such as righteous intention, service, and sincerity. The hope of reuniting with him in the Hereafter and memories of him are the greatest consolation for his followers.
With this in mind and considering it our duty to honor Ghawth-i Thani (quddisa sirruhu), we have dedicated our entire December issue to him. We have tried to compile his life story, his exemplary character, his sohbahs, and his teachings as much as possible. We have used many photos from different periods of him and Menzil-i Sharif to facilitate a sense of connection through love.
This issue consists of four main sections:
The first section contains introductory articles about tasawwuf, guidance, kamil murshid, the Naqshbandi path, and the Menzil dargah, as well as information about the past and present state of Menzil-i Sharif.
In the second section, we have recounted the comprehensive life story of Ghawth-i Thani (quddisa sirruhu), from his birth to his youth, his education life to his khilafah, and his thirty years of irshad to his exemplary morals.
In the third section, we explain the work "el-Minhacü’s-Seni Adab-ı Şeyh Seyyid Abdülhakim el-Hüseyni," authored by Ghawth-i Thani (quddisa sirruhu) himself, and the service institutions he pioneered.
In the fourth and final section, we have presented some of the talks he gave, sometimes one-on-one and sometimes to a group, during his thirty years of guidance, under subheadings according to their topics. We have also compiled memories of him from different individuals.

Throughout the magazine, we have interspersed spotlights on some of the wisdom-filled sayings of Ghawth-i Thani (quddisa sirruhu). Some of these words are:
"Prepare a garment for yourself for the Hereafter while you are in this world. Do not go to the Hereafter naked. The earth rots the burial shrouds."
"The goal of the Naqshbandi path is the pleasure of Allah the Almighty. It is to fulfill the command of Allah and to stay away from prohibited actions. The aim here is to engrave Islam into the heart of a person, which is worship."
"The world follows the Hereafter, but the Hereafter does not follow the world. If you work for the Hereafter, that is, for the pleasure of Allah, the worldly will come to you on its own. Just like an animal that follows when its leash is held, it too will follow behind you."
"Our intentions are pure, and our actions are for the pleasure of Allah. Correct your intention. Let your intention be for Allah, for the ummah of our Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), for service."
This month, we hope that the blessing of our magazine will be enhanced with the remembrance of a great friend of Allah and that the love for him will remain everlasting in the hearts of those who love him. May Allah the Most High sanctify his secret, exalt his station, and grant us his shafa’ah. Amin.
