Semerkand English Magazine presents its April issue, now available with the feature article titled "Reading the Qur’an Beyond Its Letters and Words.”

The article, an adaptation from Imam Ghazali’s (rahmatullahi alayh) renowned work Ihyau Ulumi’d-Din, delves into various concepts and adabs related to reading the Qur’an with utmost diligence and reverence.

The article describes the subtleties of reading the Qur’an as well as the divine attributes inherent in it with fascinating detail, providing the readers with an informative perspective of the transcendent nature of the infallible book of Allah, the boundless wealth of knowledge it contains, and the miraculous healing properties it has on the human soul. The article further describes how the tongue, mind and heart work in concert to recite, understand, and connect with the Qur’an. It also draws attention to the humility that reading the final divine scripture warrants in its expounding of the various adabs in approaching and interacting with the holy book.

In his lead article titled "Servitude and Liberty,” our lead author Muhammed Mübarek Elhüseyni discusses the fundamental problem of humanity: making the self-defeating choice of giving in to their worldly desires to achieve a false sense of liberty rather than attain true freedom from all forms of materialistic slavery by worshipping and submitting to Allah. He emphasizes that submitting to Allah is the only way to eternal peace and that the first stage of this submission is total and complete faith.
